Gwendolyn L. McClendon "Sis", 90, departed this life June 2, 2018 at Arista Care at Norwood Terrace in Plainfield.
Born in Plainfield, she was a lifelong resident and Plainfield High School graduate. “Sis” as she was affectionately known, loved to cook and would travel all over (to other states) to play bingo. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield for many years.
She is predeceased by her parents John C. Smith, Sr. and Marjorie Venable Smith; her brothers John, Harold and William Smith and one sister Dorothy Sullivan.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Thelma Louise Johnson of Plainfield; two sisters in law Mary Smith of Plainfield and Helen Smith of California; an aunt Mabel Smith of Flemington, NJ and nieces, nephews and friends.
